The 2012 Pug Awards have named 83 Redpath at Yonge and Eglinton Toronto’s best new residential building. Current units for sale at 83 Redpath range from $329,900 to $659,900.
Since 2004, the Pug Awards have invited the public to vote on “the best, the middling and worst” of Toronto’s newest real estate developments. As reported by the National Post, the top five new residential buildings this year were:
- 83 Redpath
- James Cooper Mansion
- Quay West at Tip Top
- One Bedford at Bloor
- One Park West
The Centre for Green Cities (at the Evergreen Brick Works) was named the year’s best Commercial / Institutional Building.
The Shops of Summerhill were presented with the 2012 Paul Oberman Award for Adaptive Re-Use and Heritage Restoration.
While this is no doubt a feather in the cap of the winner’s developers and architects, it is uncertain what effect, if any, this will have on sales at these buildings – especially as beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
