We are entering the holiday season and for the first time ever, condominium corporations are now facing challenges dealing with resident gatherings and celebrations of festivities during a pandemic. Canadian Thanksgiving resulted in many last minute cancellations of in-person family celebrations in party rooms and in units when further restrictions were imposed by the Province. This coming Halloween weekend and our December celebrations will mean more restrictions for those living in condominiums and homeowner associations and of course, a different approach to the holiday season than we are used to.
The past few months, condo managers and board members have had to rely on public health guidelines, directives from municipalities, new regulations and advice from legal counsel to figure out ways to keep condo residents safe. This will continue until we have an end to the pandemic.
These challenges are worldwide and in particular, the U.S. has had to deal with different approaches state to state on restrictions for homeowner associations.
We had an hour discussion with our colleagues in California and Florida led by Associa, Senior Vice-President, Andrew Fortin. Their approach to the pandemic and advice to their clients is invaluable. If you have an hour to spare, click on this link and sit back and listen. A special thanks goes out to Associa and Andrew Fortin for arranging this webinar and its content.
